Has there ever been a tougher choice on American Idol? I don’t think so. Both Davids — Archuleta and Cook — could easily fill the shoes.
In last night’s showdown, Archuleta was clearly the one ”in the zone.” Cook seemed a bit cashed out, like a runner who gets ten feet from the finish line and then decides to coast.
But in my mind, when you look at whole season, Cook is the stronger artist. He’s also the one more likely to have a blockbuster career a la Chris Daughtry.
I know you want a prediction, so heads it’s Archuleta, tails it’s Cook.
I’m flipping now…

Hey Brian – My coin has landed on Archuleta for tonight – but Cook will likely have the more successful career as you noted – What ever happens, I’m going to miss my Idol fix every Tuesday & Wednesday night – Are you watching Hells Kitchen?? No, I’m not talking about the hell that is your kitchen right now.. lol –

Well George may be correct, but David Cook gets my vote. He is confident enough to try something new and make it work, even if it is risky. His maturity and confidence allow him to look like he is enjoying himself during the performance. And a little maturity can be quite refreshing and attractive in a man.
