By all accounts, the Healthfit Expo was a big success this year. I was there for a couple of hours yesterday. Thanks to all of you who stopped by the booth and said hello. It’s always fun to meet our friends on the other side of the tube.
Behind the booth we have a secret little room — someplace where we can dump our coats, bags. etc. I ducked back there to grab a soda out of the cooler, and guess who was there? Hellga from the NBC show American Gladiators. I have to confess, I haven’t watched much. But I’ve heard plenty about Hellga. Mean, tough, strong Hellga. That’s HELL-ga!
I hate to blow the image, but she was absolutely charming.
We stood there by the cooler and had a perfectly normal chat about nothing in particular. When you shake her hand, there’s no question she’s strong. But mean and tough? Only on the show, folks. Catch her in the not-so-secret room, and she drops the Gladiator shield to become Helga, with one “l.”
I’m a fan, and I’ll be watching now.
